Abstract:The eighth installment in the New York times #1 best-selling series Pendragon. Bobby is in Ibarra, the next territory he must save from Saint Dane's plans. What he finds there is a tropical island paradise with a twist. Though the people live simply, growing or fishing for their food, living in grass huts, there are signs of civilization -- lights and other technological advances. But no one can give him answers as to how the inconsistencies came to be. Either they're not talking or they don't know. Then Bobby meets the Jakills, a group of kids who form a tribe outside of the main societal group who are determined to discover the truth behind Ibarra. Bobby agrees to join them and together they steal a boat and set off to find the truth. But what they discover is more sinister than even Bobby could have imagined, and, of course, it all comes back to Saint Dane and his attempts to start the Convergence. But as Bobby works to save Ibarra, he unwittingly puts the Convergence, whatever that might be, into motion -- just as Saint Dane had planned.
